The return of the annual meeting of the BSPED (British Society for Paediatric Endocrinology and Diabetes) in Belfast (2-4 November, 2022) gave PC PAL the opportunity to discuss the latest developments in digital growth chart systems.
The UK is characterised by the use of a wide range of systems, some purchased from external providers and some built in-house. Some hospitals still lack a digital growth chart option. However, regardless of the system in place, delegates generally noted inadequacies with their systems. Specialists expressed a clear need for charts which integrate with, and draw patient data from, an electronic health record (EHR) and contain the wide range of charts and derived calculations (for example, height velocity and parental target height) they need in their clinic.
GrowthXP is used throughout Europe and within a growing number of centres in the UK. PC PAL works with hospitals to integrate GrowthXP within the existing EHR system. Many delegates visiting our demonstration booth signed up for a free trial of the software based on this important feature and also the availability of a new Rare Diseases module which contains charts for over 50 rare conditions, including Noonan, Prader-Willi, Achondroplasia, Down and Turner.
